The new president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development visited mall Galleria Burgas
The new in office President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Sir Suma Chakrabarti choose Bulgaria for one of his first official visits. At the invitation of the Finance Minister Simeon Dyankov, together with the EBRD Director for Bulgaria Stefka Slavova and Jean-Marc Peterschmitt - Managing Director for Central and South-Eastern Europe, Sir Chakrabarti arrived for a one-day-visit to Burgas.
The first stop in the seaside town for the representatives of the EBRD became the absolute hit on the South Black sea coast this summer - mall Galleria Burgas. The shopping center is an investment of the international company Globe Trade Center (GTC) in partnership namely with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. In the presence of the Finance Minister Simeon Dyankov and the Burgas Mayor Dimitar Nikolov, sir Suma Chakrabarti acquainted himself personally with the final realization of the project. Traditional folk dances and walk among the beauties of Bulgaria, gathered in miniatures, welcomed the guests yet at the door and demonstrated how everyone should feel at mall Galleria - as at home.
Personally Sunny Suninski, author of the exhibition "Bulgaria in Miniature", led the tour among the scale models of famous Bulgarian landmarks and provided detail information about each of the sites.
In a brief presentation, the CEO of the company-investor GTC-Danny Bercovich revealed the plans of the management of Galleria Burgas for the development of the mall and the ways they'll walk along with the local administration in favor of the city. According to Bercovich the maximum potential of Burgas should be used and mall Galleria is ready to assist in providing space for events the local authority needs a suitable place for. The Mayor of Burgas Dimitar Nikolov confirmed that construction of a mall as Galleria Burgas, which except trade activity has social and cultural policy too is a real asset to the local community. Sir Chakrabarti inquired on how the residents of the city feel after the construction of the mall, and the mayor replied smiling, "happy".
Of interest to the delegation from the European Bank was the concept of sustainable development of mall Galleria Burgas, which was presented in detail by Danny Bercovich. "We want to become part of the local atmosphere. So we think about the needs of the local people, we would like not be a typical retail concept, but to create a place where everyone can find a way to have fun. We encourage the citizens of Burgas to require of us more and more, we are open to any proposals to help the cultural calendar and social needs of the city," explained to the guests the CEO of GTC. The wide range of services offered in the mall really make the place attractive, as thereby everyone benefits - the city and its visitors, the residents and the trade center itself.
After his visit to mall Galleria Burgas, the delegation went to the building of the local administration, where the Mayor Dimitar Nikolov presented the project of Burgas to modernize the public transport. The project, worth 67 million BGN is a pilot for the country and will receive financial support from the EBRD equal to 10 million BGN.
